How odd,
my speckle-ometer didn't beep and flash at all while exploring the new textures... Certainly didn't pick up any adult toys. Indeed, I'd rate this pack as a job well 'cleaned'.
Also, on a serious note, to me it makes perfect sense that the raw ores would have bits of stone in them. Given that breaking ore blocks yields no cobblestone, one must assume that all that 'rock' in the block has to be going somewhere...

It's a game where every cubic metre of stone that contains ore just
happens to make precisely one ingot worth of metal (which is a LOT and completely unrealistic in real life by the way) every time... I think a certain degree of suspension of disbelief in ~the comic-themed art for that game~ might not go amiss.
Either way, to each their own.

Hello! I'm really liking the new update but I noticed some issues with optifine connected textures. Am I allowed to post my findings here? If not where can I? I would like to help/assist with any bug catching I can.
Have a nice day and keep up the good work!

You can post here or the Bug Reports section, as the first post says.

Hi, its me again (^_^)'
I just got myself a trident and I noticed that while the texture in my inventory looks fine, when holding the weapon it appears with the normal minecraft texture in my hand.
I suppose this is not working as intended...
The resolution I am using is 64x

Seems to be working fine for me when I load the 64x pack. Is it definitely the texture that's wrong, or just the model? The model is still meant to be blocky like the default one.

Now I feel kinda stupid... well tbh. it was my first time holding a trident and I had never seen the default mc texture before.
I just assumed based on the uncharactaristically blocky model that it was wrong...
Well, then let me change that into a suggestion.
In regards to all other tools/weapons they look the same as their inventory image in BDcraft, isn't it odd that the trident as the sole(as far as I am aware) exception doesn't live up to its quite good looking inventory appearance?
I know that this isn't really a suggestion in regards to 1.17 but at least from my perspective overworking the trident model to make it fit with the general aesthetic of the pack could only be a win.

It used to look nice, then Mojang decided the trident would be an entity so it can't be made to look nice. Not even via OptiFine CEMs because they don't allow transparency.

Oh, so thats what it was.
Sorry to hear that, but I guess one can't do what the code forbids:/
