Yeah, it is extremely confusing. I scoured through that log (and others in other attempts) also, waiting a lot of time on the loading screen trying a bunch of different things to see if anything related to the mod patch would come up, but to no avail. I do notice I have many errors, but I believe much of it has to do with Optifine not jiving with certain things. I also use a shader, and I have not tried without that, so there’s potential maybe that’s causing the lack of texture. So very confusing. I’m at a loss here. It does the same on my laptop as well haha.
EDIT: Yes, I am looking at the correct chests, Iron Chests. Unfortunately, the texture does not load in JEI either. If it matters, I’ve been playing on Enigmatica 6 Expert. I don’t know if that modpack has some mod in there that may overwrite the texture for some reason.

Alright, well, I am an idiot. I've been trying to figure out my issue for so long, I finally just decided to go in and edit the JAR file itself and see if I could import the textures into it. During my endeavors, I discovered my issue - when I merged the patch into PureBDCraft, it emptied the model/textures folder, so while the mod patch was loading, the textures did not exist as they were deleted!

I know this is a damn old post, but now I found the solution for myself for the same issue (also in E6E):
There is an extra resource directory in
Code: Select all
<Your-CurseForge-Installment>\Instances\Enigmatica 6 Expert - E6E\kubejs\assets
All in there overwrite whatever came with the mods or in resourcepacks. So to have Sphax in display you have to unpack the parts that matter in that folder. Maybe deleting parts here might also helps. (Didn't test so.)

Looks like there may have been some minor issues during the downsizing. The 64x none trapped versions of all the chests have a very black line around the bottom and right side on the inner panel of the top of the chests. Most noticeable on the diamond chest. It really pops out when you are in world and looking at it. The trapped versions do not have this but are much fuzzier.

Not a big deal, but thought I'd bring it to your attention. I ended up using the 1.18 version in my modpack.
