I have tried it with other versions of optifine and it gives the same error, I removed the shaders mod and it has no effect. I have tried using the 128x and 512x with the same problem of wrongly-sized textures.

Computer Specs: AMD FX-4300 Quad-Core 3.8ghz, ATI Radeon HD 4780 X2, 8gb RAM

They're not wrongly sized. They do not fit in to the resources (RAM) you're supplying.

When using Optifine an extra 1000 or so textures are loaded due to connected textures.

If you cannot supply more RAM try to delete the /assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/ctm/clay folder from the resourcepack.

If that doesn't help try the entire ctm folder. If that still doesn't work use lower resolution textures (such as 128x) again having to delete the ctm folders as necessary.
