Ok so yeah if I run the base 512x 1.5.2 pack MC runs fine, no issues. If I put any patches in, it crashes out with the out of memory error. Unable to figure out why, I have more then 4gbs of ram allocated, Java64, 64x OS..
When starting it up, looking through my ram viewer, MC chews up to about 8gbs of ram, then crashes out the with out of memory error. It's odd, cause it should have plenty and clearly others are using patches in their packs.

Most people don't and can't run 512x textures. You should try using 128x and see if you run into any issues, just for a base test.
