[128x] FTB: Feed the Beast [MC1.4.7]
Two things: load up is always an issue when using hd textures, nothing can be done to solve it; and in game frame rate lag could be solved, more or less, by lowering the resolution of your patch until it's smooth again. Minecraft has never been a fully optimized game in the face of mods and hd textures; it takes a certain amount of concessions and settling for less quality when using both at the same time.KillerJeeves wrote:I got the patch in correctly, and it works! BUT, it lags my game super hard! I have a pretty beefy computer, and I could play it with no problems before. I even turned down all the video settings. It would just be nice to see if anyone has any tips.
Even if your system resources should run the game without issue normally, multiplying a texture's resolution by four (that's two squared) takes four times more resources to run smoothly and all bets are mostly off when talking about heavy mod usage. Is why I bump up my ram used for the client to maximum safe levels while playing, and that's just to prevent out of memory crashes. I suspect frame lag is caused by a lack of processing speed? Minecraft doesn't use multiple cores of a cpu afaik aside from modding it with Optifine Ultra which allows for multi-core chunk loading, but that's an aside.
Bottom line, reduce your resolution until it works the way you want. For me, when it was on FTB, I usually could have it at 64x, but that was back in 1.4 and 1.5 Minecraft. I'm not sure about now, though.
Resize trouble?

Have fun.

Thanks! I'm not a huge tech geek, but I thought I knew most of my stuff... Well if this helps anyone else help ME, I am operating on a Mac, and instead of using winrar and all that shiz, I just dragged all the patch files into the Sphax texture pack. And yes, I made sure to put the armor files in the pre-existing one in the original texturepack.lifeseeker128 wrote:Two things: load up is always an issue when using hd textures, nothing can be done to solve it; and in game frame rate lag could be solved, more or less, by lowering the resolution of your patch until it's smooth again. Hey guys.
I am having some difficulty with this pack, unfortunately. When I install it, the pack loads everything (as far as I can see) except the IndustrialCraft2 textures? So I thought I'd try and throw the IC2 textures downloaded seperately into the current pack, but after I do that only the IC2 textures load and everything else is Vanilla! What am I or my computer doing wrong??
Edit: Seems to be Buildcraft and Twilight Forest stuff too..?
